Parking issue at bigbury
Hello im writing to complain about the car park parking at the beach
I am a local at aveton gifford and visit this beach mainly in the summer months I have visited for the first time this year to find a totally new parking system
I parked my car and tried to pay via the app (no signal coverage)
I tried for ages as I use the app elsewhere
Due to no signal coverage i went to the pay machine (doesn’t take cash) it’s card only i don’t carry my bank card around as my phone stores everything so tried to use the contact less but due to no signal coverage thst didn’t work either
I went to the venus cage to ask about what to do they say they get countless complaints about this system
I clean alot of today properties around the area and I will be making sure these holiday makers do not visit this beach due to this system just not being suitable for this area
I will most likely be receiving a fine now as I kept trying to get signal to pay to park so I could take my son to the beach after school
The Venus cafe staff told me you get a fine after 15 minutes which according to the signage at the car park will be £60
I am a local single mum struggling to get by as it is and just wanted to take my young son to the beach after school
Instead I had to leave and drive to south milton sands instead
I have no issue in paying for parking i had cash and my phone with bank card stored on it
Machine wouldn’t accept cash and contact less didn’t work due to no signal
Something needs to be done things are expensive enough right now without people receiving fines for parking
I tried for a good 15 mins to be able to pay for my parking to find it was no good and I had to leave anyway but will obtain a fine if Venus cafe staff are correct in saying after 15 mins you are fined

Please help locals enjoy these beaches as much if not more than the holiday makers by realising this is becoming an issue
