Damage has very recently been caused to the wall of ‘The Lodge’ in Rectory Road, Ringmore.
This property is situated further up from the entrance to The Old Castle.
No one has stopped or exchanged details with the owners and as can be seen considerable damage has been caused to both the wall and no doubt the offending vehicle.
Remnants of the vehicle have been left at the scene and seem to correspond with the likes of a van.
Before this is reported to the police as a ‘failing to stop RTA’ if the culprit is reading this but didn’t perhaps know what to do please contact me or the Local Community Policing team.
Maybe you noticed damage to a vehicle delivering to you or maybe you spot a vehicle parked near you or attending you in the next few days still sporting such damage? If so take the details.
Please note the law states-
If you’re the driver of a mechanically propelled vehicle (car, motorcycle, bus, lorry etc.) that’s involved in an accident on a road or public place and:
a person, other than yourself, is injured
damage is caused to another vehicle or to someone else’s property – including street lamps, signs, walls, bollards etc.
an animal, other than one in your own vehicle/trailer, has been killed or injured (animal means any horse, cattle, ass, mule, sheep, pig, goat or dog
You must stop and provide your details and in some cases produce your insurance certificate. If you don’t you must report the matter to the police – it’s against the law not to.
If anyone has any knowledge of a vehicle with what appears to be a rear smashed light cluster or perhaps witnessed this incident please let us know without delay.
I am pleased to advise that the watch found in the woods recently (and as a result of being referred to in the Neighbourhood Watch section of the latest Parish news) has now been re-united with the loser This person happened to be a Ringmore resident whom did not previously receive the Neighbourhood Watch email circulation.
Theft from and of vehicles
Just a further reminder- please let people know – there continues to be thefts locally from vehicles and in particularly from vans containing work tools.
A very recent theft occurred in Ivybridge where someone had their van broken into and all of his work tools stolen rendering him unable to carry on his trade! Lock vehicles and ideally remove all tools and valuables.
