Thursday 1st October sees the first meeting of the Society’s winter season in Bigbury Memorial Hall at 7.30pm. We’re starting with a very local talk – The History of Kingston Fire Station by local Fire Officer Merv Freeman.
The Station is the only volunteer one in Devon and Somerset Fire Brigade and Merv will be presenting an entertaining look at it’s history and memorabilia since it’s formation in 1949.
This will be a bit different from the usual kind of subject of our talks but promises to be an extremely interesting evening.
Incidentally, for those of you who would like to come but may be put off by driving after dark, we’ll be happy to arrange transport. Just give me a ring on 01548 810023.
