The email communication set out below refers to the proposed installation of a new mast at Thurlestone Down which would offer many within the Bigbury Parish, particularly those living in Bigbury on Sea, a better Broadband signal. There will be an individual charge for those who wish to be able to use the signal. The cost is not yet known and depends on the number of users. However you can register interest without commitment by placing your details on the Bush Broadband website which is:
https://www.bushbroadband.com/index.php?view=register_customer
or telephone 0757 656 4242.
Both Thurlestone and Bigbury Parish Councils have agreed in principle to pay towards the cost of the installation of this mast and we are not expecting the cost for individual users to be particularly high. The map shown on the following link shows the likely coverage – Thurlestone NW Broadband. If you are in or close to the green area it would certainly be beneficial for you to at least register an interest.
We have been advised that registration will be on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
The coverage map does not take account of trees which will block a radio signal from the transmitter. However, those who would be able to obtain a clear line of sight to this proposed mast should be able to receive over 10mbps of Broadband.
As stated above registering interest is without commitment so is probably worth doing if your current Broadband speeds are poor.
